character is scary.. but the mood is lacking.. you need some rim lighting where's the underwater feel to it? and the bubbles we talked about.. add some green or blue hue and fog to bg Example1 .. or if the orb is the only source of light.. add some orange tone to the lighting.. there are real caves like that in florida.. i recommend adding the refracted light on the walls and character too.. like this Example2 .. in the very end. try adding some foreground elements on the left picture.. like encase your character you can make the stalactites .. it'll add a little claustrophobic feel to you pic.. since your character is stuck underground. good luck man! I hope this helps some.
hmm, Mr.T? I wounder if this is a matter of your screen being darker then mine. I mean its good to know anyways because who knows what peoples screens are like. But I do have blue rim lights and a huge spot light with fog casting down from the top. I even added specks of dust in PS post render. can you see the light rays coming down? I can turn the fog light up maybe its only at .8 in theses shots. I could also turn the fog itself up I think its at 3 with a max of 5. I guess I'm just confused because I'm doing a lot of what your saying in your comment in these shots. Even have a decaying orange point light coming off the orb.
As for the bubbles I'm not sure fish make bubbles. I think bubbles in under water shots is more the doing of the scuba crew.
I may play around with stalactites but just a few. I do want the scene open/empty. The idea being that the creature is alone and all that matters to him is the orb.
the untold story of these shots is that the orb(a magic pearl) was taken from him by fishermen and taken to an island temple. he sunk the island with a mighty storm to retrieve the pearl and has just now just found it again.
lol. bubble aren't only from scuba crew.. there are really pockets of air and gases that actually leak from cracks on the ocean floor.. usually close to volcano's and such.. but no scuba crew needed there
